Berea College

My labor experience at Berea has been transformational for me. Growing up, I couldn’t have a job as I didn’t have the means for consistent transportation to such opportunities. Berea gave me the first consistent work experience I’ve had.
Every labor position on our campus plays an important role in growing and maintaining our campus community. It is the embodiment of service to others as we serve our greater campus community and acquire skills and experience we can utilize to better serve the world.
In my position as Financial Capability Associate, I am grateful to serve others by leading discussions on personal finance topics such as budgeting, investing, and retirement. This relates directly to my major in Finance and intwines with my passion and familial background in education

OUR WORK COLLEGE MEMBERS
There are currently ten federally recognized Work Colleges, and nine are members of the Work Colleges Consortium. These institutions are small, private, liberal arts colleges with modest enrollments that range from about 150 to approximately 1,600 students. Each school is unique and operates the work program in a slightly different fashion. However, “work-learning-service” is a central component of each Work College. Student work, coupled with robust academics and a spirit of service, is the common denominator shared by all the Work Colleges.
