Stephen used his prior experience as Library Assistant in the Sterling College Brown Library, to step up in responsibility as a student leader in the library during an interim period following the retirement of our long-serving Librarian.  Stephen combined reliability with creativity in his role, for example, running a student survey about library usage information from which he immediately applied in choosing the siting of accessible computer work-stations; improving communication out to the community about library services; and serving as student representative on the Search Committee for a new Librarian.  In this work he thoughtfully engaged as a colleague, not afraid to respectfully share his ideas and perspectives even if they differed from his supervisor -a trait much appreciated!”
