Quote from the Student: "Participating in the work program has established the necessary foundation for my career beyond Sterling by providing a supportive network of professional connections and a wide scope of work experience. I am extremely grateful to have worked at Sterling, which helped alleviate financial stress while also encouraging me to take hold of my position and design it as I see fit. As an undergraduate, I am excited to have already begun receiving job offers related to my degree. I am confident about what my capabilities are and what I can contribute to my future projects in oceanography.”

OUR WORK COLLEGE MEMBERS

There are currently ten federally recognized Work Colleges, and nine are members of the Work Colleges Consortium. These institutions are small, private, liberal arts colleges with modest enrollments that range from about 150 to approximately 1,600 students. Each school is unique and operates the work program in a slightly different fashion. However, “work-learning-service” is a central component of each Work College. Student work, coupled with robust academics and a spirit of service, is the common denominator shared by all the Work Colleges.
