“At Sterling College, I was able to contribute to the community through the Work Program by working on the farm and in the kitchen. I was also able to combine my Work Program position and Senior Research Project working with a local, alternative middle and high school.

For the past four years, I have been serving as the full-time Assistant Director of Camp Mowglis in Hebron, New Hampshire.   My job at Camp Mowglis is a lot like being a student worker at Sterling College.  I have the wonderful opportunity to facilitate, teach, and learn.”

UNIFIED BY PURPOSE

OUR WORK COLLEGE MEMBERS

There are currently ten federally recognized Work Colleges, and nine are members of the Work Colleges Consortium. These institutions are small, private, liberal arts colleges with modest enrollments that range from about 150 to approximately 1,600 students. Each school is unique and operates the work program in a slightly different fashion. However, “work-learning-service” is a central component of each Work College. Student work, coupled with robust academics and a spirit of service, is the common denominator shared by all the Work Colleges.
