Personal finance website, NerdWallet, ranks Berea College and College of the Ozarks in the Nation's Top Five Private Colleges graduating students with the Lowest Debt. The story goes on to highlight both Colleges as 'smart investments' for would-be college students to affordably graduate, and avoid the higher education 'excessive debt trap' that's been the focus of recent public and government scrutiny.  

Financial aid experts from several of the most student-debt-free schools shared their best financial aid advice “Students should only borrow money as a last resort; they should first check out the jobs and scholarships available on campus, and then only borrow the amount needed,” says Nancy M. Melton, director of student financial aid services at Berea College in Kentucky.
